Presentation
The Carbone company is located in Melfi, on the lower slopes of
Mount Vulture, an ancient volcano in the heart of Basilicata (south
Italy) blessing the area with a unique terroir: a lava soil, rich in potassium and extremely fertile.
The uncontaminated nature of Mount Vulture provides high quality
mineral waters, wines and olive oils. Its marriage with the microclimate, which
presents wide temperature difference between day and night, transforms the Aglianico
(who sends its roots into this soil) into a quite outstanding wine.
Wine is a family passion for the Carbone's, grape farmers since
1974, inherited from their parents by Luca and Sara, who proceed with the
Aglianico DOC wine making activity under the inherited experience and values.

Our philosophy
The underlying philosophy driving Azienda Vinicola Carbone
choices are the beauty of the surroundings, the terroir, the
link with the highly fertile Vulture soil, fruit of
millennia of generous work left us in legacy by this
volcano. |

In the winery, the most modern
technologies are used to maintain the particular character
of this noble, native wine, so austere and at the same
time exuberant. Thanks to the cooperation with the
renowned oenologist, Sergio Paternoster we create wines
with a genuine expression, a strong and solar character,
linked to its terroir and its history. |

We love our land and we are aware that it needs to be preserved for the future, in the interest of ours and of everybody. We would never use herbicides, or indiscriminately use chemicals, both in the vineyards and in the winery. We try to contribute to the respect of the territory in its widest meaning: environment, culture, colours, tastes
