This is the heart of Carbone vini, located in the very centre of the Melfi town. Hypogeal, escavated inside volcanic rock, it is the ideal place for the aging of our two most important labels of aglianico: “400 some” and “Stupor Mundi”, thanks to its constant temperature and natural humidity.
A visit inside the cellar is like a time trip: the volcanic eruptions stratifications tell the story of the very formation of the Vulture territory. The marks of the picaxes used to carve the cave, and the stone arcs, built along the centuries to give stability to the structure, tell the history of men.
